You may feel the sky as April
In the deep of Autumn's Chorus
The distance of the object
Comes ripe within pondering
eyes of the heart

Savour the kiss of life
She rides your tongue for a semester
The tender yolk of heaven

Last night I dreamed of planes, they chased the wind like fevered wasps
A patch of self, picketed out by a small white fence in a red desert,
A red sky
Bomb showers on the skinny lot

Then some crude mole-ish man with long wispy eyebrows and a despicable beard
Grunting little warlord chasing me around a room,
Fighting with him
A jigsaw with a fine-toothed blade eight and a half feet long
He's getting all morbid trying to grasp it

Enough of this rubbish, listen here [ I route the saw-blade between jail bars and SNAP ]
I'm gonna put you on trial
Wheezing and grunting
"Just wait, - wheeze - I'll have a fair trial
not by you, bombs away"
...what the... silly unrepentant bloke wants mercy?
I took no action, the sting of time on my face

And here in waking consciousness,
I see the lesson of my folly
if just to see him as Moley
and hug him there
I would be free

Be free, my brother Moley
In the light of love
We can be free

Directed by François Chevennement, Citie Ballet opened their 2012-2013 season with a mixed program that showcased a wide range of talent. The versatility of the dancers paired with refreshing and imaginative choreography made for a very beautiful show. The following is a personal address, to congratulate the dancers for their outstanding performance and dedication to the classical spirit of their form.

Sarah, you are a wonderful addition to the company. There is treasure mapped in your movements- the esteeming embrace of your soul sister in Anul-Ka, the lucid poise in Gloria! You show there is fulfillment, to draw from the gracious energy of life and channel it through the dance. Thank you for a vibrant display!

Kayley, you have the composure of a Crown. Very admirable in response to Friday's technical difficulty. Your unwavering presence spoke not only of your strength as a performer, but also reinforced the professional status of the entire company. Giselle was such a treat, and when the music played on Sunday and you did your variation, you truly did it justice!

Mingyi, you are a story-teller! There is a mystical quality to your form, fully embodied and excellent expression of the heart. I feel a quiet strength alive in you, it branches out like wings in the dance - to soar and to shelter. You serve as a valuable base and elegant protector of the group. It is very exciting to watch your expertise with the very physical maneuvers throughout the show. Thank you for bringing your passion to Citie Ballet!

Nyda, your warmth radiates from the stage. Your flexibility shone in each performance. Immaculate, from your earthy modality in Ladybird to the comedic expression of "the undisciplined latecomer" in Purple Thoughts - you had me in awe, and bellyaching laughter. There is a special determination in you, I pray success continues to guide you + the body serves you well.

Caleigh, you are an artist! Versatile and liberated - yet soulfully anchored in the founding rhythm - you gesture from a strong palette. You bring a modern pulsation and attentive heart to the vision of each piece. Thank you for an inspiring performance, I look forward to see more from you throughout the season.

Sophie, Anul-Ka knocked me out of the park. A mature, guiding presence-- you moved through space with authority and prowess. I awed at the stamina you impressed upon the audience in your vivacious presentation of Ladybird, and smiled through your act of "follow the leader" during those witty Purple Thoughts. Cool, classy, and natured, you lead me to your strength. It is marvellous- the seamless power and grace, the precise measure as you take your ground, and reach for the dream. I wish you all the best in the next stage of your development. Thank you for dancing in my heart.

i feel you down to the innermost place
may you become the alleluia in every breath
i dance around your shadow sometimes, slip and
fall within
here's a mighty chorus from the chest of a man
"Refrain"

sing just enough to let the dust know you're alive
like a bottomless pit in a palace full of stars
lace your shoes with justice
to make grey eyes at the moonlight
maybe fire become
and design a roar like foreign laughter
to storm away the silence
in a palace full of stars

Winter springs in summer ovens; be my guide - whichever wondrous gully
make oasis in our slumber
hallelujah
magnets
movement from the bellowing mystic wild
dance up and down to see the sun
pick up, be free, be one
